Yes! Jonathan asked Ashley to marry him Saturday,

at the San Clemente beach...and she said, "Yes".

It still hasn't shank in just yet...my first born is getting married.

We just love Ashley. She fits right in just as if she was mine. Her family have been good friends

for many years. I always knew she was the one...why don't kids listen anyway...don't they know parents know best. I'm very happy and thank God for being good to both of them...they are good kids. Congratulations! Jonathan & Ashley.

Embossed Dinnerware

I am in love with layered embossed dinnerware. Now I just need a money tree to get it and

the storage space to hold it all. There I go dreaming again...

What is it about the creamy white or ivory color of embossed dinnerware that I am attracted to?

I just swooned over this Turkey platter. It would make any holiday table look so feastive.

Can't you just see it all piled high with moist turkey?

I just can't explain it...I just really love embossed, curvy, creamy dinnerware right now.

Can you name some of the dinnerware sets?

Cinco de Mayo Tablescape May 2011

I set this table for "Cinco de Mayo" May of 2004 I believe.

Since I have been so busy I thought I'd post it today on "Cinco de Mayo" day.We had Taco Salad with homemade Tortilla Bowls, and Fresh Homemade Strawberry Lemonade. Yum! sounds good about now.

I used a classic white plate on top of woven straw chargers,
with a different color salad plate for each placesetting.

The napkin rings are homemade from TP rolls that are wrapped with wide enough ribbon to cover TB roll. I then printed image from Print Master cut out image and glued
it on top of the TP roll. Very easy, quick and inexpensive (cheap). :)

The runner is actually a bed pillow cover my grandmother crocheted, using the scrap pieces of yarn she had. I thought it fit the theme great.

The sombero I got at the dollar tree. I just love that store.

It's always fun to celebrate Holiday with the family.

They never know what I might come up with.

The Cookie, Cookie Jar

My mother had a cookie jar just like this when I was a girl. Back in the early sixties. Wow! that just made me show my age. I was browsing ebay one day for I don't even remember, and came across this cookie jar. When I saw it I could see it on the kitchen counter full of cookie. Most probably homemade. I don't know how much mom paid for her's, but this little cutie was $100.00. Mom could probably kick herself now for getting rid of it. I have seen this Napco Japan Vintage 1958 "Cookie" cookie jar as high as $ 160.00. So cute, and oh! the memories.

Moving in the New Church Building

We are so excited about moving into the new church building! God is so good. I'm so glad that I can be apart of all he is doing at Inland Lighthouse Church. Oh! and the things that he is going to do...so exciting!!! Come and join us Easter Sunday for our Easter Services.We go to the best church in town, and we have the best Pastor. You certainly can't leave out Sis. Booker, she's wonderful.

Yellow Houses April 15, 2011

This first house is our home. Someday I want to paint it mellow yellow with the same white trim.

This is how we bought the house, painted gray with the white trim. We put new windows in last year and have some other projects to get done before we can paint.

Here are some of my favorites I have found surfing the web.

I'd love to put a porch on the front as well.

Someday I will have a little playhouse for my future grandchildren as well. Hey! if you're gonna dream you may as well dream BIG!

Homemade Lemon Curd April 14, 2011

I just love this stuff, and hubby really loves it. I make the homemade goodness, (I just love the pretty pale yellow color) it's so tangy and sweet all at the same time. Very simple to make. I am giving you the recipe today. Sometimes I will tie a tag on and give it to a friend or shut-in that needs a little lift in everyday life. It always brings a smile. I have severed it here with buttermilk biscuits and devonshire cream.

You can serve this so many ways...biscuits, scones, ice cream topping, in triffles, parfaits, muffins, rolls, waffles, pancakesand furit. The list goes on and on. Let your imagination run wide. Now for the recipe... I got this recipe in the 1997 Taste of Home Country Cooking Recipe Collection magazine on page 61. Zesty Lemon Curd 3 eggs, beaten 2 cups sugar 1/2 pound butter, cut into tablespoon-size pieces 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice (this has to be fresh squeezed lemon juice) Grated peel of 1 lemon In the top of a double boiler, combine all ingredients. Cook and stir over boiling water until thickened like pudding. Remove from heat and cool. *Chill until ready to serve. Keeps well in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks. Yield: 3 cups. *My note: I pour this in the containers or jars I am going to store the lemon curd in before I chill it, because after you chill it, it thickens a little more and is difficult to get into jars. Enjoy!

You see one of my favorite places to go is up the coast of California.

I can almost hear the ocean waves crashing, smell the ocean smells and

feel the sand between my toes. It's so relaxing just to sit and

watch the waves come in and go back out.

Morning Glory Vine

My morning glory vine came up wild on the side of the house.

It was growing on the ground and was taking over the wheel barrow

and anything else it's way. My son helped me untangle it without to much

damage to the plant and put a tomatoe cage over it. As you can see it has

recovered very well. It makes me smile each morning I go out to

water my flowers, and I see this beautiful vine in all it's glory.

Today I am going to Oak Glen with my mother and sisters. Will be posting

pictures later of our day.

Dresden Express 12 Ruler

Do you all remember a few months back me saying I would love to find one of these

rulers. Well, my friend found me one at the Long Beach Quilt Show. I was so overjoyed!!!

Now I can make more of the amazing kaleidoscope quilt blocks. Here is a pic of a quilt I have

been working on. Each block comes out so different from the other. I love to see how each one turns out.

Thank you Joyce for finding that ruler. You see it is made by June Tailor

and is not being produced anymore. :( But I am now a very Happy Camper.

Sneek Peek of Christmas Log Cabin Quilt

Each square has a different center. The fabric is Debbie Mumm, and

I just fell in love.

This block is for the pillow I am making to

Baby Jacob

My nephew Jacob and his wife Celeste's baby came 5 weeks early.

He was born June 7, 2010 round 6 p.m. and weighed 3 lbs 8 oz.

They didn't have to put him on a respirator, only a feeding tube and oxygen.

He is now 3 lbs. 14 oz. and taking a bottle.

He's still in the hospital, but doing fine.

This first picture is of him just after he was born.

This next picture is of him a few days later.

This last picture is of his mother holding him last night.

He is a little mircale and
we thank God for taking care of Celeste and

baby Jacob.

Jennifer's Rag Quilt

Black and White Rag Quilt

Just for love... I made this rag quilt for my daughter just for love, and maybe a little fun!

Her room is black and white and some very bright color for accents.

I used my scrap fabric to make this quilt. I had a lot of fun making this quilt,

but I usually do when I'm making any quilt.

By the way this was my first rag quilt, and I really liked it. It's nice to work

on something and get it done in a day.

I'm still working on my son's dresden plate quilt, it's just taking a little longer

to get done.

Whit's Birthday Cake

Jennifer made Whit's birthday cake. The cake is frosted with buttercream frosting,

and the decorations are fondant (homemade fondant).

She's doing great! I think, as I have said before "Jenn has

found her creative art side in cake decorating.

While my sons girlfriend was out visiting this last week I threw her a early birthday party

since I won't be with her on her birthday. I made this quilt for her. She was so surprised about that party and she just loved her quilt. As you can tell her favorite colors are black, white and red.

I had so much fun doing this quilt, I'm ready to do another one.

I'll just have to go shopping for more fabric. How fun is that!

What color combinations should I use, there's

just to many to pick from. I'll have to think of someone in the

family or a friend I have'nt given a quilt to and go from there.

I just love to see the faces of loved ones and

friends when they open their quilts!

Baby Gifts

More baby gifts for my friend Leaya's baby boy. She is ready at any time to have him. I'm so happy for them, after 3 girls she is now having a boy. at the baby shower she would open a gift

and say "and it's not pink". I thought she was so cute. She got a little emotional a couple a times.

Her girls a beautiful and she's a great mom. I know they are going to help in the spoiling process of their new brother.

A simple fleece blanket I made for the little guy.

I just fell in love with the froggy.

And I had to try my hand at an "I SPY Bag".

Jennifer's First Baby Cake

Jennifer, my daughter has found her creative talent. She has always loved to bake.

As a young girl, when she would bake cookies they all come out the same size, her cakes

and other wonderful desserts would always be bakery perfect. Yes! she had to have it perfect.

So when she was asked to make this cake for a baby shower

(which she's never decorated a cake to this extent) I told her sure go for it.

I knew she could do it. Now she is going to take some cake decorating classes

to find out the techniques so it doesn't take two days to make and decorate a cake.

She made her own fondant, and colored it. I was told it tasted very good, I'm

not a fondant girl, just give me frosting. So I'm very proud of you Jenn, you can do this.

I believe in you, because whatever you set your mind to do you will do it.

Have fun in your classes!

My First Baby Shoes

My very first pair of baby shoes are for Leaya's baby boy. Hope they don't look to girlie.

I think they should be okay for an infant, but they go with the little outfit I bought him.

See that cute little froggie...isn't he just adorable.

So I picked fabric to go with the blue and green on his little overalls.

I think he will be so cute in his little outfit.

I even got some froggie fleece I am going to make a blanket.

I will post more on the blanket later.

Got get back to the sewing machine.

Dresden Plate Quilt

I thought I would share my new quilt project I'm working on.

This is the fabric I started with. Using this ruler, I used a friends since June Taylor no longer is making this ruler. Oh! how I wish I could get a hold of one of these. I have search the web, ebay and everything in between, and just can not find this ruler. Anyway enough of that...I cut my fabric plates with this ruler.

Each and every one of your plates come out so different.

They look a lot like kaleidoscopes.

I'm having a lot of fun sewing this quilt up.

Each step makes the quilt look so different as it starts

to take shape.

My son has put his claim on this one.

I'll be posting more about my quilt as I get other steps done.

Jennifer's Cake

This is my beautiful daughter Jennifer. We are already for the party...

she's finishing up making the coffee. I don't drink coffee, but I've been told

she makes the best coffee. I think she gets that from her grandmother... my mom.

Nice and strong!

She's been decorating cakes and cupcakes so she made and decorated her own bithday cake.

I was kinda pushed out of the kitchen.

I think they turned out great. She loves bright and lively colors... goes with her bight personality.

Pincushions

I've been busy making these cute little pincushions for a craft bizarre in our area.

I first saw these beautiful pincushions on "Creations From My Heart" blog.

She has an etsy shop she sells them on. She also has a beautiful blog. A very creative person. I just love her blog.

So with the love of teacup and all girly things, I googled teacup pincushions.

I found this wonderful website called "you can make this", and downloaded

the instructions for free for sigining up. Why not I love crafting! and it was free.

I'm still busy making others I just had to show you all

what I had done.

I made this teacup and saucer for my friend Joyce for
giving me a subscription to "American Quilters Society".

Spring Hose Wreath

This was my inspiration from Touch Stone Catalog. The price $68.00. Yes! I would never

pay that much for a piece of hose and some ribbon.

So I went to Home Depot and got this 15 ft. hose for $7.47.

tied it up with a length of wire.

I also went to Wal-Mart and purchased a Peony Mixed Bush

for $5.00. and a spool of ribbon for $1.97. Then got the trusty hot glue gun out

and started clipping flowers

and gluing them on to my hose wreath.

All done and hanging on my door.
I think it turned out great, and for only
a little less than $20.00.

The "Daughters of Zion" a girls group in our church ask if I could host

a Valentine Friendship Party for the girls. These girls are between the age of 8 and 12.

We had a great time and the girls really enjoyed themselves. My daughter

was asked to speak on friendship, she did a great job.

This table is in the kitchen area. We did a pink theme in there

since that happens to be my very favorite color.

My daughter baked the cupcakes and decorated them.

The tablecloth was a PB inspriation.

I think it turned out really cute.

This party really was fun to decorate for, we all had a wonderful time.

Valentine Table Runner

When I saw this table runner on the Pottery Barn Kids website I knew this was the runner I wanted it for our girls Valentine's Day Tea. But I also knew I probably could

make it for mere nothing.

So I got some red felt, some of my red and white

scrap fabric, and got started.

I embroidered around each of the fabric hearts with the

blanket stitch. I really had a lot of fun doing this project.

I also printed out some conversation heart with the printer fabric.

I really like how it turned out so what do you think?

I'll post more after our Valentine's Tea, which is on the 19th.

Birthday Boy... Man?

Today is my sons 28th birthday. Where did time go? I remember his first day of school and then his graduation in 2000, that's already been 10 years ago. I am so proud of him. He graduated with honors from Optical Tech School and is still pursuing his schooling in Ophthalmology. I think he is the best Ophthalmology Tech and fill in Surgery Coordinator in Pabalan Eye Center. Pabalan Eye Center is a great office, a team that works as a family. My son is truely blessed to have such a nice place to work.

Oak Glen

On Monday my daughter and I went up to Oak Glen above Yucaipa, CA.

Oak Glen is one of Southern Californias most scenic spots. The cool mile-high climate provides a beautiful change of seasons, unsurpassed in the area. Apple orchards cover the slops laden with blossoms in the Spring and apples in the Fall. The scenery is more like New England and only about 30 miles from us here in Rialto, CA. In the Fall you can visit the different orchards, taste fresh apples and cider, enjoy hot apple pie at one of the several family restaurants, feed animals in the animal park, or browse through some of the many specialty shops. Some farms and ranchers offer U-Pick apples, U-Pick berries (raspberries or blackberries), U-Press cider and country music, dinner and hay-rides. You can visit the one-room school house and take a nature walk. But today Jennifer and I just wanted to take a ride after that long week of rain, which being a California girl I am not used to being in the house that long... we had a little bit of cabin fever... so we went for a ride and it was beautiful. Most establishments were not open due to the snow they got, but went had lunch and some apple pie and ice cream. Yummy! Here are a few pics my daughter took on our way up.

Dad's Christmas Quilt

This is the quilt I made dad for Christmas.

He was so excited to get a quilt just for him.

I had a lot of fun making it... until my sewing machine

decided to quit. I had to bring out my older and smaller

machine and was that a challenge to finish his quilt.

I stayed up until 3:00 a.m two nights in a row.

After ripping out much of the quilting that was

teribble, (my walking foot does not fit the smaller machine)

I quilted it in panels and then put them together.

That turned out to be much better with the smaller machine.

All that matters is I finished it and dad loved it.

Christmas Around the House

Just a few pictures of the very slow progress of the decorations around the house.

I don't know what it is this year, but I just don"t have enough steam to get everything

done like I use to. Maybe it's because on Wed. Dec. 5th I went shopping for decorations for

the church with a friend in the church, Thursday I spent 7 hours decorating the church with my daughter and my friend, Friday I spent 8 hours decorating the fellowship hall for the

ladies luncheon with another friend in the church, Saturday was the lunch, so we were there

for most of the day. Sunday was church and Monday my daughter and I decorated the fellowship hall again for the young unmarried class for thier Christmas party. Whew!!! I'm tired. But it's a fun tired and I just love doing and going during this time of year, I just don't have the energy I use to. I don't want to get old....

In between all that I have been tiring to get my presents made and bought, and decorate my house. My daughter helped me with the wreath over the fireplace, and I was thrilled with it.

I'll try to get more pictures posted soon... for now here are some teasers.

Thanksgiving Breakfast

Thanksgiving Breakfast was so yummy!

Especially when you get to eat

it with the ones you love.

Pumpkin napkin fold. I found this on the BHG web site.

These are our thankful papers.

We right down something or somethings, that we are
thankful for making sure to write the date down.

We pass our papers to our left
and we read what another family member is
thankful for, and the next one reads his/her paper
and so on...

We save the papers for the next year and read those

compared to the pervious year.
Sometimes we cry and sometimes we laugh make for a
nice way to start the day.

I'm so thankful for life it's self. All the wonderful

blessings and mircales of the year.

For my husbands job - when so many don't have one.

This is our Thanksgiving Breakfast Table.

I will be making Pumpkin Pancakes with Hot Cider Syrup

and Nutmeg Whipped Cream, Bacon and Eggs.

Coffee, Hot Tea, Juice, Water...

Yum!!! I'm making myself hungry.

I found this cute little pumpkin napkin fold on the

Better Homes and Gardens web site. The only diffierent

thing I did was I didn't flip it back over the last time. I used the

little bit of napkin that sticks out as the stem of the pumpkin

because I didn't have the real or faux stems to put on the pumpkin.

Each little napkin is a different fabric... in fall colors.

Aren't they just the cutest thing. My family thought so.

I just love the way this pic turned out. I was getting a pic

of one of the glasses and notice the candle showing through.

Wow! I amaze myself. I'm getting better at this photo thing.

Lei-Lei and the babies, Baby Shower. Yes, she is having a little girl. We are so excited!

My parents are great-grandparents of 5 boys. This will be the first girl. Yipee!

This is Lei-Lei, my nephew Aaron's girlfriend. Such a sweetie!

The verse on the little card says:

A little pink bow on a cute little girl,

Lei-Lei is expecting a girl.

I had so much fun doing this cake. I'm not professional

or have had any cake decorating classes. I just love doing this

for my family and friends.

This game was so much fun! You had to find small little

saftey pins in a pan of dry white rice... blind folded. Honestly!

you could hardly tell the difference from the rice and pins.

Pink Baby Shower Cake

Chocolate Cold Water Cake (Depression Cake)

This is a chocolate cake recipe they would make during

the war when eggs and milk were hard to come by.

Chocolate Cold Water Cake

Ingredients:

* 3 cups all-purpose flour

* 2 cups white sugar

* 1 teaspoon salt

* 2 teaspoons baking soda

* 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

* 3/4 cup vegetable oil

* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

* 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar

*2 cups cold water

Preparation:

Sift dry ingredients together into a 9x13 inch ungreased cake pan. Make a well, stir in liquid ingredients little at a time with fork. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 40 minutes, or until tooth pick inserted comes out clean. Frost with your favorite icing.

at Staples'. I will one day get it painted white.

Harvest Festival

Our church has a Harvest Festival every year on October 31, for our community.

We had about 1700 people this year. Many of the community that I talked to said they do not

take their children out door to door, the kids would rather come to the festival. We have small

booths for them to play games and win candy (what else would you win on the 31). We

really but a lot of work in to this festival, but it's always worth it.

We usually have the Western theme, so my son and daughter try to dress accordingly.

I had to take pictures of them, they are such good looking kids.

they kinda grow on you... but you can't beat $1.50. And
she's had them for a couple of years now I think.

Harvest Tablescape

It's time for Tablescape Thurday again. One of my favorite times of the week.

Stop by Susan's at BNOTP for more beautiful and fun tables.

This week I thought I'd get my Harvest Table ready.

Here's the break-down of the place setting:

first I started with a bamboo placemat I got at

Tai Pan Home Decor store here in California. I only

paid a $1.00 each. They are very nice, they were

made with a padding on the back. Very nice for the wood table. :)

Then the dinner plate, which I got at the Dollar store...

the salad plate also from the Dollar store...

I had the napkins, and the napkin rings I made.

I make all my own floral centerpieces.

The stemware I don't remember where I got it. The smaller

stemware I recently got at Goodwill.

tablescape I am working on.

I am going to share with you today a quick napkin ring

craft I do for many of my tablescapes.

You can do this with items you already have at home.

You will need a couple of empty toilet paper rolls

(that will make 6 napkin rings) -

wide ribbon about 1 1/2 inches wide - tacky glue or hot glue -

and item of theme to glue on ring, such as:

I have used wooded hearts for valentines,

small christmas ornaments for christmas,

and printed out pictures as I will be using today.

First I selected my pumpkin picture with my

print master program for todays project,

sized the pumpkins to my liking,

copy how many I would need...

and printed out my page on card stock.

Then I cut out my pumpkins...

cut the toilet paper rolls into thirds...

glued on the ribbon that I chose for the project...

and then I glued on the pumpkin (I had printed out
on card stock paper), where the ribbon meets to
cover the seam...

after it dries I slipped it on the napkin and...

voila...

a very nice napkin ring.

Hope you will use this craft for some of your tablescapes.

30th Anniversary Memories

My husband and I celebrated our 30th Anniversary on the 20th of October.

I was so sick... my wonderful daughter made us dinner.

We had Cajun Chicken Alfredo and Cheese Toast, she forgot the salad, but hey! she even made us a cake from scratch, no cake mix from a box. Dinner was so good.

Especially since I didn't have to make it.

My husband brought me these beautiful carnations.

Wow! was he being thoughtful or what.

We will celebrate in style when I start filling better.

In June of 2010 we are going on an Alaskain cruise.

This will be our first cruise,

so we're looking foward to it. We will be going with

some friends and my brother and his wife,

which are celebrating 25 years of marriage.

My sweet daughter also made us this beautiful card.
She is so thoughtful.

We had a very nice evening...

Thank you so much Jennifer for thinking about
mom and dad on our special day,
when I was so bummed out for being so sick
I couldn't even think straight.
I sure won't forget this Anniversary.

Birthday Gift

My sister, Lynette gave me these beautiful individual footed dessert glass domes, for my birthday. I just love them. I will be using these for many different things.

I could put a yummy dessert in them, or maybe...

a cloth apple I made a couple of years ago for my fall decor, or maybe...

a glass white pumpkin. A special dessert for a special tea party.

I will enjoy using these footed glass dome dessert dishes for many different things.

I really like the way the table set-up this time. I went for a more elegantand soft, fall table in the cream and golds. I'm going to let the picture do the talking for the most part. I may make a comment here or there. Thanks for viewing.

I have let it dry, and it's beautiful. I know you can't

It's a beautiful autumn day here in Southern California.

And it's my Birthday!

I'm celebrating with a Birthday tea. I'd just love it if you

Morning Devotions

I love the times when it's just me and the Lord.

They are truely sweeter than sweet rolls and strawberries...

which are faux here in the picture below.

I am so glad that the Lord is real. You know that old song,

"My God is real, He's real in my soul.

My God is real for He has washed and made me whole.

His love for me is like pure gold.

My God is real for I can feel Him in my soul."

...so I have a time with Him each day so I can be like this song,

"To be like Jesus, to be like Jesus,

on earth I long to be like Him.

All through lifes journey, from earth to glory,

I only ask to be like Him."

That's my desire to walk here on earth like my Jesus...

I still stumble and fall, but I'll get back up, wipe myself off...

and try again, and again... until I see Him face to face.

I love Him more than life itself, I really want to see Him someday...

hopefully very soon.

Tassels!

I have been bitten with the tassel bug... here are a few tassels I have made.Yes! the teacup one is my favorite... but it's not mine, it's a gift for Christmas. :-(

Can you see the sugar cube in the center of the teacup?
I thought that was so clever.

the apple was my first one I made.

I hope to sell them somewhere... Ebay or Etsy, not sure right now.

They are really fun to make.

Back To School

This is my take on a Back To School Tablescape.I've always wanted to try my hand at putting together

this flower arrangement. Not to bad for my first time...

if I might say so myself.

I bought these plaques at the Dollar Tree and spray painted
them with chalk board paint. That was fun!

Then I placed my basic white plate on top of my chalk boards.

Ironed and folded my black and white check napkin

into thirds, and placed over the white plate.

Next I placed the yellow salad plate on top the napkin.

I thought the mini tablets were so cute. I used these for my

place cards. Set an apple and a large paper clip with the tablet for favors.

Glassware and the candles.

Some of my favorite school books I've found in thift stores here and there.

Yummy! Chocolate cupcakes for dessert.

Wow! I have been so busy. August was my parents 50th Anniversary. So the five of us kids got together and gave them a Anniversary Celebration. It was alot of work but it was worth it. I will post about it soon. Promise!

My blog was giving me fits... it kept saying my password was wrong. Had to get that figured out...then one thing after another..... and I got to meet my son's girlfriend from Bella Vista, Arkansas. What a sweety, I think she's a keeper...... that's just coming from MOM. She fit in with the whole family like a glove on a hand, she's a special treasure for sure.
Whitney I love you very much.

Hope to get back in a routine now that everything is... maybe... settling down.

My Tablescape is in the the backyard, on the patio.

I have been collecting for this one for awhile.

And since August is usally hot here in Southern California

I thought a beachscape was the the thing to cool things down a bit.

I just thought this can covers were so cute... and
since we don't drink, I used them for our diet Coke.

I had this idea of some child size sun glasses for
the napkin rings and could not find them. Then I was
at "Alin Party Supplies" (for mom and dad's 50th Anniversary Party)
yes I have been busy... (that a up coming post)... and found these adorable sun glasses
for only .50 each. I bought several pairs, all in different colors.

Another pair of those adorable sun glasses.

I have a beach ball I wanted to use in my centerpiece, but
I could not get that thing blown up. All the men were at
work and so I gave up...

Found these cute plates at the ".99 Cent Only Store".
I just couldn't pass them up... yes I bought several.

Square Rose Plates

Let's do lunch. It's been so hot here in California, I think a nice salad with every thing in it.

I have home grown tomotoes, green onions, cucumbers, then we'll add some

lettuce, feta cheese, dried sweet cranberries and

maybe some cubed chicken. Almost forgot grilled garlic toast. Yum sounds good!

I put together this silk arrangement of peonies, and ivy.

A candlestick or two.

My square plate my sister gave me as a hostess gift
during last years hoildays came from Ross. My sister is so thoughtful.

I added the white bowl from Corelle.
I use these little bowls alot. They are just the right portion size
and seem to fit in most tablecsapes.
Thought maybe we could have strawberry shortcake.

How about a nice glass of iced tea with lots of ice.

Just the way I like it.
Glasses came from Wal-Mart years ago.

After my sister gave me my first square plate I was

on the prey to find more. I found this one also at Ross.

This is a quilt I made. It is a sampler, with all my

favorite colors. I draped it over my chair at the table

the other day and it has been there ever since. I

kinda liked it and I was able to see my quilt.

Old Country Rose Tea

Come on in, it was nice of you to stop by.I am serving tea today, in my Old Country Rose China.

I folded the green napkins in the placemat fold,

and the cranberry napkins I folded in the placecard fold.

I really like to use placecards, and fabric napkins when setting the table.

Candlelight always makes the table I think.

The sugar in the sugar bowl is pink if you look real close.

My place settings. A little pinwheel at each

You might have seen these little cakes in
many of my tablescapes. They are fake, and
some of them I have made myself. It just
adds to the table I think.

I will learn how to take off the date and time on my camera
so it does not show up on my pictures.

My daughter had a Coca - Cola Party!

This was their party favor, a box of Cracker Jacks.

She made cute little thank you cards to tie on the front.

We went to the thrift store and bought these

old LP's for .25 cents each.

Then we made CD Labels of her favorite Coca -Cola

sign and glued them over the old labels. We used glass

plates from Wal-Mart, so you could see the labels.

After being a blog stalker for many months now, I decided to ask my techy son to help me start one of my own. I will be using this blog to show the different styles of decorations in my house through out the different holidays and seasons. I like to make my house feel festive, peaceful and cozy. I want my guest to feel relaxed and welcome in my home.
I was serfing the web for tablescapes one day and happened upon Susan at "Between Naps On The Porch". I fell in love at once! I didn't relize I wasn't the only one who set their table just because... playing house for real...that's what I call it.
